Marcus's Speech Development Update

(this pic taken on the last day of sch before mid term school holiday.. he can sweap the leave with bloom!!!)

After 6 months of waiting to see doc Rajini.. finally our long awaited doctor appointment is here.. and we went to see doctor and doctor has some assessment on him and do some play and observed his overall development.. And from doctor observation and assessment.. she said that Marcus overall development are on the track with his ages.. Just his speech development is delayed.. from her assessment marcus receptive (understanding) is about 2 years old 3 months or properly more.. as he is "stubborn" in showing things he knows to others.. so this is a good news to me.. as this result is much better than the assessment done at SpeecHelp earlier on.. But, his speech is at 1 year old only.. so she actually suggested that he need to go to speech therapy to help him to improve his speech.. doctor also found that his oromotor skill is not fully develop and he can't follow simple tongue movement for example lifting and pointing tongue and licking on his upper lips.. this may be linked to his eating habit.. whereby he doesn't like eating since baby time.. that's maybe the reason why his oromotor skill is not develop well..
However, he has a lot of improvement recently.. and we can see him more open up to strangers.. as normally if there is strangers around he will goes totally quiet and no sound at all.. but slowly now he is open up. and he does make some noise and babbling when there is strangers.. and the big improvement is he will say Bye Bye to other people!! and he really mean to say Bye Bye!!!
there are few incidents that we hear him said a,b,c,d when he playing on the floor map which there is abc.. and when we walk the stairs everyday with him we will count 1,2,3,4...10 and he also follow and babble. and last few day we can hear loud and clear he said 4,5,6 la, le, o..
last Saturday 2 June 2012.. he opening the fridge and he take an orange out and he said "I got it!!" again is loud and clear.. both me and hubby heard it and feeling amazed and asking each other was he saying that " I Got It?" and both of us heard the same thing.. but when we asked him again he won't repeat..
this morning.. he want to watch VCD.. and he on the TV but nothing appear on the TV.. and he said "why?"  a few times together with hand gesture (both hand open inside out) of "why?" and then he walked towards the cabinet and looking for remote control for the TV.. and then he said "where?" a few times.. with the same hand gesture.. I was like "wow" am i hearing it right? does he said and mean what he talking about? I feel amazing.. But I really hope he will slowing open up and speak up more.. and to be more consistent..

Marcus.. mummy still waiting you to call me mummy patiently.. mummy is proud of you that you are learning and improving everyday.. Gambateh!!! my dear son...
